Corporate Management in Turkey and Its Impact on Financial Performance of the Companies

The concept of corporate management in Turkey started to be uttered since late 90s and actual applications were considered to be the principles, which were published for public companies, by the Capital Markets Board for the first time in 2003. Nevertheless, the history of Corporate Management in the world is much earlier and it dates back to 1800s. Referring to a system in which companies are managed and controlled based on literature, applications of Corporate Management in Turkey (Cadbury, 1992, s. 14) and their impacts on the corporate performances were analysed under three titles in this study with reference to the applications in the world. The first title is about the principles and general understanding for the Corporate Management in the World and reflection of such principles in Turkey and the current practices were addressed in the second title. In the final section, the analysis of the Companies in Turkey that comply with corporate management principles, were analysed.
